Dr. Michelle Munro-Kramer is an Assistant Professor, the Suzanne Bellinger Feetham Professor of Nursing, and the Director of Global Programs at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. Her program of research focuses on gender-based violence prevention and response, primarily among college-age youth, within domestic and international contexts. As part of the inaugural Johnson & Johnson Nurse Innovation Fellowship, she is interested in leveraging nurses’ creativity to develop innovative solutions to complex health and human rights issues such as intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Her research projects approach these topics using a trauma-informed and patient-centered lens. She uses mixed methods and participatory action research to understand the experiences of vulnerable populations in order to inform intervention development.
