Christopher Hanson MD, FACC
Christopher A. Hanson, M.D. F.A.C.C is a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist who specializes in cardiac imaging. He serves as the medical director of Cardiac MRI at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Hanson was born and raised in Oakland County, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then matriculated into residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Hanson then returned to Virginia to complete two fellowships at the University of Virginia Health System; the first in cardiology and the second in advanced cardiac imaging. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology; has certification boards in cardiovascular magnetic resonance, cardiovascular computed tomography, adult comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology; and level 3 certification in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.
Dr. Hanson has broad research interests in cardiac imaging and his work has been published in multiple peer-review publications. His clinical interests include the imaging assessment of coronary artery disease, structural cardiac imaging with cardiac CT & MRI, heart failure, inherited cardiomyopathy syndromes, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloidosis, and pericardial diseases.
