Dr. Laila Shehadeh is a proud graduate of Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) class of 1991. She completed her internship and residency at Henry Ford-Bicounty Hospital, in Warren, Michigan. Dr. Shehadeh currently practices Gynecology  in Warren, Michigan She serves as  vice chair of quality and safety at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital,  past president of Macomb County Osteopathic Association, and assistant clinical professor at MSU-COM.

 

Dr. Shehadeh is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.


Felix Rogers DO's Profile

Dr. Rogers lived in Lincoln Park and then Trenton before his parents moved to Grosse Ile when he was four years of age. He participated in track and was yearbook editor in high school. After graduating from medical school, he completed training in internal medicine and cardiology at the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. One year of his cardiology training was at Emory University in Atlanta. Together, he and his brother formed the corporation that became Downriver Cardiology Consultants in September 1978.

 

Dr. Rogers places an emphasis on echocardiography, vascular studies and electrocardiography. He and the other physicians at DCC have a major commitment to prevention of heart disease. Medical education has always been an important part of Dr. Rogers’ activity. He has been the Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program since it began in 1978. He is a scientific advisor to the NIH National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He also serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.  

 

In his spare time, Dr. Rogers ran the nonprofit organization, Cranbrook Peace Foundation for a period of 20 years. He really enjoys gardening.  When DCC moved from Riverside Drive to their present location, he and four others moved the entire garden from the old office.  He has been married to Caroline Bell since 1973. They have two adult children, Elizabeth now in medical school and Alison, who is getting an advanced degree in poetry.

Kevin A. McKinney has more than 30 years of experience in the legislative and political process. McKinney worked for the Senate Majority Leader/Minority Leader for seven years in a variety of positions, including staff director and committee aide to the Senate Administration and Rules Committee. McKinney left the Legislature in 1986 to join a Lansing based multi-client lobbying firm as its first associate.


In September of 1991, McKinney established McKinney & Associates, a multi-client lobbying and consulting firm. The firm specializes in telecommunications, health policy, auto no-fault insurance, grassroots advocacy, PAC development, and government procurement—grants and contracts.


In 2003 McKinney helped with the development and formation of the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN) and currently serves as the coalition legislative coordinator.
A 1979 graduate of Michigan State University, McKinney is involved in numerous community and civic activities including past president of Lansing 2000 Inc., former chair of the Greater Lansing Convention/Exhibition Authority, former chair of Lansing's Principal Shopping District Board of Directors and currently serves on the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee and Board of Directors. McKinney also served on the statewide Board of the Brain Injury Association of Michigan.

Dr. Carron serves as attending physician in the department of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI. She is a certified medical director, certified in hospice and palliative medicine as well as Geriatrics and Internal Medicine. She has spoken frequently on pain management, hospice and palliative care, including helping present the American Medical Association Educating Physicians on End-of-Life Care (EPEC) curriculum. Dr. Carron is also Assistant Clinical Professor Internal Medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and serves as current president of the American College of Osteopathic Internists.

Ruchi Fitzgerald, MD is the current addiction medicine fellow at Rush University in Chicago,Illinois. A Michigan native, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A in Political Science in 1999 and from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2004. She completed her family medicine residency in Billings, Montana within a FQCHC model and then worked as afamily medicine community faculty physician in Billings. After her family relocated to Denver, she worked for WellVia Solutions as a full time telemedicine physician. Ruchi was eager to pursue an addiction medicine fellowship as the opioid epidemic emerged. She is a physician in recovery and is passionate about helping other medical professionals receive help forsubstance use disorders, especially with licensure and return to work.

Ramona Wallace D.O. IFMCP, is an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at WMED. Currently in Battle Creek teaching in the Family Medicine Residency Program. She became Certified in Functional Medicine in 2018. Since then she has piloted a Functional Medicine Residency track. Prior to coming to Battle Creek, she worked in Muskegon at a FQHC and developed various programs to address the disparities in care, focusing on nutritional insecurity as well as building community resilience. Her current focus of research is to develop a nutritional deficiency data base.

Chad A. Link, D.O. FACC FACOI received his medical degree from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. He completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology and serves as the Cardiology chairman for Sparrow Eaton and Ionia Hospitals.

He specializes in invasive cardiology with the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute. Dr. Link’s background includes all aspects of clinical cardiology with specialized interest in the management of coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia, echocardiography including transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and pulmonary hypertension. Professional memberships include: the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Infectious Diseases and have taken care of HIV patients for over 30 years. I have also taken care of hepatitis C patients for 20 years. I am a professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and I have developed courses in HIV and hepatitis. I teach medicine residents as well as ID fellows on HIV and hepatitis C at my clinical sites.

I am currently the Director of HIV/Hepatitis clinics at three sites:

  1. Ingham County Health Department
  2. Central Michigan Department of Community Health
  3. Great Lakes Community Health Clinics

All three sites are FQHC sponsored clinics, and all are funded by Ryan White for HIV Care. I am currently taking care of over 1000 HIV patients and over 500 Hepatitis C and B patients.

I am the Director of the HIV Registry at Michigan State University. The registry has data on over 600 HIV patients and we are currently doing translational research at MSU, which have been NIH sponsored grants.

Dr. James M. Snyder is an Osteopathic trained and board-certified neurologist who completed an additional 2-year fellowship in the area of Neuro-Oncology, as well as a Fellowship in Healthcare Innovation. Dr. Snyder is Senior Staff Physician in the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center housed in the Department of Neurosurgery at Henry Ford Health System and is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also holds appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Snyder is committed to providing comprehensive care for those impacted by cancer or tumors involving the brain, spine, and nervous system. Through this effort Dr. Snyder and the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center provides innovative clinical trials, comprehensive supportive services, and advocacy for those facing this challenging disease. Dr. Snyder’s research interest includes new therapeutic options for brain tumors, epigenomics and radiomics for CNS disease, and implementing new technology into clinical care such as with virtual care solutions that lessen the access-to-care gap.

Joel Kahn, MD, FACC of Detroit, Michigan, is a practicing cardiologist, and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Medical School. Known as "America’s Healthy Heart Doc", Dr. Kahn has triple board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology.  He was the first physician in the world to certify in Metabolic Cardiology with A4M/MMI and the University of South Florida. He founded the Kahn Center for Cardiac Longevity in Bingham Farms, MI.

Dr. Kahn has authored scores of publications in his field including articles, book chapters and monographs. He writes health articles and has five books in publication including Your Whole Heart Solution, Dead Execs Don’t Get Bonuses and The Plant Based Solution. His 6th book, Lipoprotein(a): The Heart’s Silent Killer, is about to be published. He has regular appearances on Dr. Phil, The Doctors Show, Dr. Oz, Larry King Now, Joe Rogan Experience, and with Bassem Yousef. He has been awarded a Health Hero award from Detroit Crain’s Business. Robert Breakey, MD is a 5th generation graduate from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin in 1984.  He has followed a Plant Based lifestyle himself since 1977, and has practiced Lifestyle Family Medicine in Ann Arbor for 33 years.  He has also focused on leading his multi-specialty medical group in quality improvement initiatives, managing utilization, lowering the total cost of care and transitioning to the new world of value based care.  He has special interests in health promotion, positive wellness and supporting the natural healing process that we all have within us. Strobl, D.O., is the director of the Heart Disease Prevention Program and Lipid Clinic at the Thoracic Cardiovascular Institute and is among the first physicians in the country to achieve certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipid Management. He also specializes in noninvasive diagnostic cardiology. Dr. Strobl received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa and performed an internship and Internal Medicine residency at Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan. His training culminated with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.


Dr. Strobl is also currently professor of medicine and chairman of the Section of Cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine at Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been awarded numerous academic honors including Outstanding Distinguished Lecturer and the Dedication to Teaching Award. Dr. Strobl was also nationally recognized in 2002 with the Northrup Award as the National Osteopathic Educator of the Year. He is frequently invited to lecture at medical seminars throughout the country and has participated in numerous scientific clinical trials that have influenced the present-day management of cholesterol and triglyceride disorders.

Dr. Bueche received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. She graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences where she was a member of the Symphony, Rowing Club and spent one year at Kingston University in England. She completed her internship at Mercy Health in Muskegon, Michigan through the MSU COM State Wide Campus System in 2008. Dr. Bueche was a founding resident of the Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Mercy Health and served as Chief Resident for two years, graduating in 2010.  She is board certified in NMM/OMM.

 

Dr. Bueche served as faculty (2010-2013) and then as Program Director of the NMM/OMM Residency at Mercy Health (2013-2015) where she also assisted in didactic development for the MSU COM OMS III base students. Dr. Bueche moved to Southern Oregon in 2015 where she established a solo private practice and has since merged with fellow NMM/OMM specialists at the Osteopathic Consultants. She serves as Clinical Faculty for students of Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest. In 2018, Dr. Bueche assisted in program development at Table Health, an integrative medicine practice focused on whole-person care and community connection. 

 

Dr. Bueche is a member of the AOA and the AAO. She has lectured locally, regionally and nationally on osteopathic philosophy, treatment and launched her website www.thisosteoapthiclife.com and podcast (This Osteopathic Life) in 2019, expanding awareness and broadening the application of osteopathic principles and practice. 

 

Dr. Bueche extends her passion for the health of all things in her work as a youth soccer and running coach, through engagement with CrossFit Health as an affiliate owner and coach, with experience racing for Team USA in triathlon and as parent to three active children.
